Management Trainee Program

The Australian Eggs Management Trainee Program is now open for any egg farm employee or egg supply chain worker looking to take the next step in their career in the Australian egg industry. 
 
The Management Trainee Program will sponsor two successful recipients to complete a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, contextualized for the egg industry.  
 
The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is delivered by 4 Up Skilling and can be delivered online or in person. Participants will complete 5 workshops of clustered units and a range of task and assessment that can be spaced out over one or two years, to fit with the participants workload.  
 
Units of competency that will be covered in the Certificate can be modified to suit the needs of the participant and their role within the farm business. An example program can include: 

Communication 

  • Apply communication strategies in the workplace 
  • Communicate effectively as a workplace leader 
  • Develop and use emotional intelligence 

Leadership 

  • Demonstrate leadership in the workplace 
  • Lead and facilitate a team 
  • Lead team effectiveness 

Team Development 

  • Lead effective workplace relationships 
  • Implement continuous improvement 
  • Promote innovation in team environments 

Leader Development 

  • Coordinate business operational plans 
  • Develop personal work priorities 
  • Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs 

Applicants will be reviewed based on their: 

  • potential to contribute as a leader in their workplace 
  • demonstrated commitment to the egg industry 
  • minimum one year working in the egg industry 

There is no age criteria, however, it is preferable participants should be at least 21 years of age. 
 
Through this Management Trainee Program and the broader Industry Education and Capacity Building Program, Australian Eggs aims to support egg industry staff to find long-term careers and undertake leadership roles in the workplace. We encourage all egg farm businesses to consider their staff for this Trainee Program.
